Just call me lazy... I haven't been blogging. Guilty as charged!!! At least I can say Kevin and I have been mega busy. Since our last post we have done 3 weddings, some gorgeous bridal shoots, numerous family shoots, baby pics, pet photo sessions you name it, we've done it! Even an album cover!!

Poor Kevin has also relented and given up the family room (his Man Cave) and allowed me to turn it into our very own home studio! (yeah he loves me) I am SO excited. We will have a formal unveiling soon and will be offering specials to our most loyal customers. Stay tuned.

Our summer is filling up but there is still room for YOU!!! You know you need pics... come on... give us a call!!! here's a bit of what we have been up to.

FIRST LOOK
at the New Year!

We were so excited to be doing a wedding on New Year's Eve and our very first "first look" session. A new trend in weddings is for the couple to see each other just a few moments prior to the ceremony. That "first look" is a completely private moment and it takes the edge off the huge first sighting at the ceremony. We were brought to tears ourselves sharing that moment with Candace and Trampass Swanson on New Year's Eve. He held her bouquet, she his black Stetson, they turned to see each other and there was no way to describe it in only 1000 words. Tears flowed, there were kisses, hugs...and I have to say it was incredibly moving. What an honor to capture those few moments in time! The chapel seemed to fill up with light as the sun lowered. Really magical. It may not be right for every one, but for this couple... it was perfect! The shot above was just a heart beat before they turned to see each other, then the one below is of them embracing in the sun filled chapel. Congrats to this wonderful couple! Our FIRST (of many) of the NEW YEAR!!

I had the privilege and honor of attending the installation of officers at the Granite Lodge 191 in Clayton, North Carolina. These Masons are a kind and compassionate group of men who care deeply about their community and their brother Masons.

We wish our friend Clark Garrett, Mason and Shriner, great success this year!

Sometimes the best photos happen right in your own neighborhood or even your own back yard. Candy and Rob decided to do a couple's shoot in the area where they hang out the most, their local downtown area (Clayton NC). We also shot at an old abandoned farm right down the road from our house. Super looking shots. It helps that they are so "into" each other not to mention fun loving. Thanks Candy and Rob, the entire album will be up on the website in a few days!

Seems like ages since I posted last but it really hasn't been that long. The days are so busy they just seem to run together. We did 6 shoots over the Thanksgiving break and have 3 more this weekend. Everything from family gatherings, to baby pics to romantic couples ... even a professional head shot for a blog. And just the way the days seem to blend together, the lines often fade as new clients become new friends. It's the best part of what we do.
Even though holiday time is busy time, we still took a few moments to reflect on our wonderful life, our great friends, valued clients and our precious family. So thankful for each of you... you know who you are!

From both of us!

Ahhhh... Florida! What a great place for a wedding and our son Jeremy and lovely new wife Megan chose wisely! My new mantra is that when it comes to weddings, just like real estate... it's all about location, location, location! The perfect setting makes all the difference and it's hard to beat the beach for great vistas, romance and lots of fun in the sun.
Being the parents of the groom, it was a totally different experience for us at this wedding. It was hard to sit back and be a guest vs. photographers. Still we managed to sneak in a few good shots and love this one of the lighthouse in the background and the heart up front. A romantic feel don't you think? Much love to Jeremy and Megan, hope in 30 years you will be as happy as you are today!
